It’s been what?  Uh let’s see, ten months?  Whoa, ten months since my last post.  Wow.  What is up with that?  I even stopped commenting.  I sure didn’t stop reading though.  Or knitting for that matter.  =)  But wow, ten months.  Yup lame.  Well, uh, I’m back. Knitting content in a bit when I have pictures.  I am working on Helena from Knitty and I LOVE it.  Seriously, I will be back. =)

Yep, that would be me. I haven’t touched this blog in over two months. Ugh. Sorry about that. I kind of unknowingly took the summer off from blogging and knitting. As I was telling Tarilyn this morning in her comments, I TOTALLY need to get my knitting mojo back. Don’t get me wrong I have been starting a bunch of things, but finishing them? Yeah, not so much. I will start all gung ho and then totally lose interest. Oh I have finished some things. Like these

But really? That is all I have for FOs right now. How sad is that? Now with summer over and the kids back in school I am hoping to get back to my knitting and to blogging here.

I did manage to FINALLY get to Purl Diva in Brunswick Maine. Oh my gooodness. We had headed up that way on Saturday to see the Naval Air Show, but it was raining really hard so what better thing to do then stop in to see her shop. TK had said we would stop by after the air show but uhm yeah I knew it was going to be after four and she closes at four. It was raining! I had the perfect excuse!! =) I got to meet Ms Diva herself and Loki! Yes I was excited, yes I acted like quite the dork which is why I don’t usually say anything when I meet someone whose blog I read. TK outted me the fink. =) Then again she figured it out when I knew who Loki was. Lame dork yes that would be me. =) :::E, it was great meeting you and talking with you. Thanks for letting me geek out in your shop and smoosh on Loki. =) As for TK, ignore him, most people do. ~grin~ I will definitely be back in a couple of weeks when my MIL is in town!::: And don’t think for one minute that I walked out of there empty handed. Oooh no. I walked out of there with Lorna’s Laces in Sherbert colorway and Regia Sock yarn in Gryffindor colorway. Anyhow, if you ever find yourself up in Brunswick, Maine, her shop is a MUST stop by.

Right now I am working on Knitty’s Foliage hat, and I LOVE it. I am using Malbrigo’s Purple Mystery in worsted weight. Love it. ~whew~

So, yesterday after being a complete snot and fussing about not getting my yarn from KnitPicks, I of course received it in the mail.  I got Shadows in the Jewels color way.

I love it.  It is sooo gorgeous and sofffft.  Now, I need to decide which beads I want to use with it.  I chose two colors one is a light bluish color and the others are dark iridescent color.  I am thinking the dark.  I would post pics of them on here for your opinion BUT danged if I can find where I put the suckers.

So, with that I am off to look for my beads and wind up the yarn.  Hopefully I can get started on MS3 today.  If not then, definitely tomorrow. =)  Go me.

How in the heck did it get to be July 16th already? Seriously. When exactly did that happen? Sheesh. I have been super busy though. Summer is the time of birthdays for us, with one in June, three in July and one in August. Oh yeah summer time is busy busy busy birthday time.

That doesn’t mean that I haven’t been knitting because believe me I have. I am also in Emily’s Dish Rag Tag which starts August first. I have been on Ravelry fooling around on there. I don’t have any friends which is rather sad and pathetic and the fact that I just realized this makes it funny. =)

I also signed up for MS3 but haven’t gotten my yarn yet. I ordered it from KnitPicks on June 29th, like a dork I put in the wrong exp date for my credit card so it didn’t get sent out until July 3rd and dang it if I am still waiting. I called KnitPicks and I was told they had 10-15 days before they would consider it lost. Call me crazy but uhm here it is July 15th and I still don’t have the yarn. The customer rep said I had until July 19th. It’s weird I have ordered from them before and I always get it super fast. Just bah, I really want to get started on the MS3 and it’s frustrating. I know I could use some yarn out of my stash or heck run up to Korner Knitters up the road but I really fell for the yarn I found on KP. Bugger, I hate waiting. =)

So, if you are on Ravelry friend me so I don’t look quite so pathetic! =) I am the one with cake icing in her hair marking off on the calendar when school starts again.

I am in the middle of making a cute striped cardigan for HRH out of cotton ease but gawd knows it is going on forever, miles of stockinette interspersed with rows of garter, not so very exciting. Feh. So I searched for a quickie project and decided to do the Bunny Tail hat out of Ittty Bitty Hats, sorry to lazy to link, link in last post. =) It was easy, but for a quickie project, it took me a week to do simply because I just haven’t had time to sit down and knit. But it came out cute and I am rather happy with it. =)

Where have I been, huh? I got an invite for Ravelry and that is where I have been spending most of my computer time. I love it, so much to see and do. I am still fiddling with it but I am having fun with it.

I am actually knitting believe it or not. Right now I am working on a striped cardi that I found on Li0nBr@nd’s website in Cotton Ease ::which I love:: in lime colorway. I am also working on the BunnyTail hat from the Itty Bitty Hats book. The weather has been so nice here though that I haven’t wanted to be inside knitting but rather outside running and playing with the monsters. I do have to work later today so I am off to enjoy some time with my family, enjoy some burgers off the grill, and say a silent blessing for those who can’t be with their family and friends today. Happy Memorial Day.

Spring it seems is finally here in Maine!! Yay!  It is absolutely glorious outside and I HATE having to go to work with it so nice out.  As it is I had to call out twice last week for strep throat.  Yes, yours truly had strep throat.  Dare I say it was awful!!  Just bleh!  But, I’m so much better now.

So onto the knitting!!  Last Tuesday a friend of mine from work asked me to make a hat for a baby girl that her friend just had.  OOHHH  YES!! I wasn’t up to speed on knitting baby hats when HRH was born, I was still mostly working on looooong scarves and baby blankets, so this was a treat!  I made the upside down daisy hat from the book Itty Bitty Hats .  I absolutely love this book.  I have made two of the little boys hats in it so far but was thrilled to be able to make one of the cutesy girlie ones.

The booties were a really really simple pattern I found somewhere on the ‘net.  I have been wanting to make booties for ever.  Or at least try to knit some.  Everyone at work around me is either having a baby or knows someone who is having a baby.

I finished the pinwheel blanket for J’s new nephew.  I of course forgot to take a picture of it.  J  says that he will get a picture of G w/his new blankie as soon as he can.  I didn’t make the blanket huge, mostly because I was getting bored and running out of  yarn.  I figure it’s the perfect size for a car blanket.  Hopefully G will like it.

Well I am off to soak up some sun and weed some of my front gardens.  I am dying to do some major revamping in there.  Hopefully this weekend. =)

On Monday, April 16th a Nor’Easter came sweeping through Maine. We lost power at 7:30 in the morning and didn’t get it back until Wednesday at around 11:30 in the morning. Fun? Yeah, not. The kids were all on Spring Break, they were not pleased. We have a generator so we were able to keep the ‘fridge going and a couple of lights so it wasn’t too bad. Plus? My “doomsday” Husband was all prepared. You see, every summer he goes through this thing where he puts water under all the sinks, makes sure all the flashlights have good batteries in them and has glow bracelets and necklaces for the kids in case we lose power. Yeah I am always the one scoffing at him and saying,”The longest we were ever without power was two hours for pities sake.” Uh, yeah I was forced to eat my words two weeks ago. =) Let’s just say it could have been a LOT worse but it wasn’t exactly fun either. You don’t realize how much you use electricity until you don’t have it. Blah.

Knitting? Oh yeah I have been knitting.

I finished the Cider Moon Campfire socks for TK. It’s rather odd, the first sock took me three weeks to finish. The second one? I did it in a week. I just knew if I set it down I wouldn’t finish it. TK is rather pleased with them, yet won’t wear them. “Those are special socks, Honey.” Hrm, I made them for him to wear. I have decided he is just weird. =)

Over all I am pretty happy with how these turned out and I have figured out that socks aren’t so scary to knit after all. I can totally see myself knitting myself a pair of these.

I am also working on a PinWheel blanket for a friend of mine.  Actually it is for his brother and his wife.  Actually it is for the baby they are adopting from Guatemala. =)  The left on Saturday to go get him and will be back on May 5th.  It has been a long hard road for them and hopefully they won’t running into any huge problems while they are there.

Oh? We have a new member added to the menagerie. Actually we have five new ones but well I only have a picture of one. We were at the feed store because TK wanted a couple of new chicks. They had ducks. Yes ducks. Yes we came home with one. Yes it is my fault. But dang it he is soo cute. So cute in fact that TK had to go back the next day and get another one because well, you can’t have just one.

Meet Waddles. Yes Waddles. How cute is he? Egads he is a messy duckling but sooo cute. And the other duckling? His name is Peeps. Yes Waddles and Peeps. We needed more animals like we needed a hole in the head. But he is super cute! =)

I just now figured out how to added buttons on my side bar. ~rolls eyes~ =)

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. Ours was okay. The kids got sugared up and then refused to eat anything for the rest of the day. HA! I had to work so it wasn’t all that great.

Last Wednesday we had a nice snow storm hit here in Maine. Oh joy! The weather had been seriously teasing us because it had been nice and sunny. You could actually go outside with a light jacket or no jacket on. And then? Bam. SNOW! Bleh. Heavy snow too because we lost a few huge branches in the front yard. TK kept muttering, “I told her I wanted to cut those trees down but oh nooo and now look.” Yah yah whatever. =)

Knitting has been going on. I am making some socks for TK because he has been bugging me about it. =) I am using the campfire sock pattern from Cider Moon and so far I love the pattern. Well written and even a goof like me can figure it out.

Right now I have three projects on my needles, I have a pinwheel blanket for a friend’s baby due in May, Monica from this issue of Knitty, and the Clementine Shawlette from the Spring Interweave Knits.  I am using my malabrigo yarn in purple mystery colorway that I picked up at SPA for the shawlette.  I love it and it is knitting up rather quickly.

We have had a tragedy here on the homefront and TK and I are helping the two oldest boys deal with it as best we can.  Needless to say it isn’t easy and it’s going to be rough around here for a bit.

Right now I am just itching for Spring and am longing for days where I can throw open the windows and let a good breeze flow through the house.

I am also in the process of planning on how to do the flower gardens in the front of the house.  TK and I pretty much ripped them out in the fall with the hope of replanting and redoing them this Spring so I am itching to get started on that.  Just.want.to.be.outside.in.the.warm.sun. =)
